London Figures was setup by two Dulwich dads looking to share their passion of toys with their kids and friends. We started selling at Northcross Road Market in June and the feedback thus far has been fantastic!
We sell iconic custom minifigures that are brick-compatible as well as a large selection of brick-inspired products – Box Frames, Baseball Caps, Brick Sellotape, Keychains and more! Our line of 120+ individual figures range from Alien & Predator, to Michael Jackson, to Fortnite characters. It’s both current and nostalgic and would make the perfect stocking filler for friends and family!
I (J) own a design agency and that’s my Mon to Fri. We do web design, branding, editorial design and promo videos. It’s important to have a passion project that isn’t related to work and that’s what London Figures became! Neil is a full-time dad and we met in the school playground during a drop-off. We were complaining about the extortionate prices of Lego and wondered if there was an alternative, brick compatible solution.
After some initial research we realised that there was a gap in the market and we could put a smile on the faces of both kids and adults. We decided to stock figures that could be appreciated by children and to also bring in more adult-themed ones as well. We knew that South East London would never have seen anything like it before!
Lego has had a huge effect on three generations of people now; it gives excitement and inspiration to the younger generation and a sense of nostalgia and fond memories to the other two generations. What Neil and I wanted to achieve was to create 80’s and 90’s movie idols and icons in a minifigure form to create a new breed of figures that we all wish that we could have had whilst growing up.
I personally have absolutely loved the journey Neil and I have taken together as London Figures is an extension to my personal hobby – I’m an avid toy collector of action figures and limited edition art toys.
