The Goodrich Primary School Winter Fair is set to entertain children and adults on Saturday 6 December from 2 to 5pm. The fair, organized by FOG (Friends of Goodrich) is aimed to get people of all ages into the festive spirit and raise vital funds for the school. Entry is £1 for adults and children go free.

IMG_4356It will host an abundance of activities such as meeting huskies, visiting Santa’s Grotto and jumping on bouncy castles. There will also be a wide range of produce, food, drink and gift stalls. The fair is also a one-stop-shop for every Christmas need, from buying your Christmas Trees and picking up wreaths, decorations and local festive produce.

“I’m really excited about how this year’s fair is shaping up,” said Henrietta Barker, one of the organisers of the fair. “We hope that everyone has a fantastic day! We also want to encourage as many people as possible to come along and have fun – because it’s all for such a great cause.”

Santa will be in his grotto for the entire Winter Fair event, along with his cheeky elves, talking to children individually and giving out presents. His huskies will also be available for photo opportunities and petting. Kids can then try their luck on the teddy tombola, have glitter tattoos, face painting and play on the many games on offer.

For those feeling lucky, there is a raffle with prizes worth hundreds of pounds up for grabs with tickets available in advance and on the day. Prizes include an iPod mini and dinner for two at Hixter, Bankside. There will also be ‘Jolly Jam Jars’, a Goodrich tradition that involves children putting together sweets and trinkets with their adults, donating them to the school and then winning jars back at random at the fair.
A range of themed hampers will go to the highest bidders at Goodrich’s first ever Silent Auction, as well as a teddy tombola and lucky dips. There will be hot dogs, reindeer food, drinks for children and grown-ups – including mulled wine and hot chocolate – handmade cakes and mince pies. There is also a large number of external companies taking tables at the fair so Christmas shopping will be all wrapped up.

We are looking forward to seeing you between 2pm and 5pm on 6th December at Goodrich Community Primary School, Dunstans Road, East Dulwich.
