However, done right Scarves can genuinely be a very thoughtful and useful gift so for those going down this route for their loved ones just make sure its a good one by popping down to Stag & Bow in Forest Hill. Purveyors of craft and haberdashery they are once again hosting their annual Scarf Festival. Wander past their shop window and you will see a display of hand crafted masterpieces from local makers who have responded to this year’s theme ‘La Dolce Vita’.
On Saturday 12th December from 3pm the final entries will be judged by Helen Lederer, a keen crafter and entrant into the BBC Children in Need special of The Great British Sewing Bee. She is a also a huge fan of the shop, who were runners up in the Time Out Love London Awards 2015 and recently won Best of Lewisham 2015.
Seeing in their 5th birthday the shop is also toasting a landmark year which has seen the expand their shop floor to include a new range of vintage fabrics, increased designer/maker collections and a new fully equipped textile studio. There will be mince pies, a tipple and a cheeky 10% off everything in store throughout the day.
